WordPress Developer for Local Businesses
A slow or confusing site wastes the traffic your SEO and ads bring in. I work as a WordPress developer for hire, building clean, fast sites that match the pages that rank and the ads that run. I build for service businesses and online stores.
- Custom WordPress and Elementor builds
- Speed work
- Technical SEO built in
- 4+ years in SEO
What does a WordPress developer do for a local business?
A WordPress developer builds and fixes the site your customers use. For a local business that means clear service pages, a call button that works, fast loading on a phone, and the technical setup search engines need.
I build with SEO in mind from the first day, so the site, the pages and the ads follow one plan.
What can I build and fix?
Custom WordPress builds
I build sites in WordPress with Elementor or a customized theme, depending on what keeps the site fast and easy for you to edit. Layouts are simple and mobile first, with the phone number and main call to action on the first screen.
Service and location page templates
Each service and each area gets a page built on a template, with space for unique content. The template handles headings, schema, internal links and breadcrumbs, so every new page starts in good shape.
Landing pages for ads
A focused page for each ad group, with one message, a visible phone number, a short form and tracking. Ad clicks land on a page that matches the ad, not on the homepage.
Speed and performance
I resize and compress images to WebP, remove plugins you do not use, set up caching and test on a phone connection. Large images and extra plugins cause most speed problems, so I start there.
Technical SEO setup
Titles and meta descriptions, canonical tags, XML sitemap, robots rules, schema markup and clean URLs are set up before launch. I test the schema in the Rich Results Test and check the site with Screaming Frog.
Redirects and migrations
If a page address changes, the old address gets a 301 redirect, so rankings and links carry over. I map every old URL before a move and keep broken pages to a minimum.
Tracking setup
Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console and Microsoft Clarity are connected, with events for calls, forms and WhatsApp clicks. You can see which pages bring business.
Front end fixes
Menus that break on mobile, forms that do not send, layouts that shift while loading. I fix the small problems that cost you calls, and I tell you what caused them.
Who is this for?
- Service businesses with an old or slow site
- Businesses starting a site before they start SEO or ads
- Owners whose site looks fine but brings no calls
- Online stores that need cleaner category pages
- Anyone moving to a new domain or a new design
What makes a WordPress site fast?
Large images, too many plugins and slow hosting cause most speed problems. I fix the images first, then the plugins, then check what the hosting is doing.
I treat speed as a visitor problem before an SEO problem. A page that takes too long to show loses the visitor, whatever Google thinks of it.
What usually goes wrong with business sites?
- No phone number on the first screen of the mobile page
- One page for every service, so no page ranks for any of them
- A huge hero image that slows the page
- A contact form that does not send, and nobody notices
- No tracking, so nobody knows what brings calls
How does a website project run?
Brief
We agree the services, the areas, the goal of the site and what you already have.
Structure
I plan the pages and URLs from the keyword map, so each page has one job.
Design and build
I build the templates and pages in WordPress, mobile first.
Speed and checks
I test speed, forms, schema and links on phone and desktop.
Launch with redirects
I launch, redirect old URLs, submit the sitemap and check indexing.
Handover
You get logins to your own accounts and a short guide to editing the site.
Can you build the site and run the SEO?
Yes. Building the site and the SEO together saves rework, because the page structure and URLs are set once.
What do I need to give you to start?
Your services and areas, photos, your logo and colors, and access to your domain and hosting. I can help write copy from your own facts.
How does the website fit with SEO and ads?
The site is where the clicks land. Local SEO brings people to the right pages, and ads bring people to focused landing pages. If the site is slow or unclear, both lose money.
I plan the pages around the keyword map first, then build, so the structure helps rankings from launch.
This work is part of what I do as a WordPress developer and SEO specialist, so the site and the marketing follow one plan.
Website Questions from Business Owners
Not here? Send me the question on WhatsApp or email and I will answer it.
Do you use Elementor?
For many builds, yes, and I also customize themes. I choose by what keeps the site fast and easy for you to edit.
Can you fix my existing WordPress site?
Yes. I start with a check of speed, errors and structure, then fix the problems in order of cost to you.
Will I be able to edit the site myself?
Yes. I build so you can change text, images and phone numbers without breaking the layout, and I send a short guide.
Do you build on platforms other than WordPress?
My site building is in WordPress. For other platforms I can advise on SEO and give your developer a clear list of changes.
Who owns the hosting and domain?
You do. I help set them up and ask for access to work on the site, but the accounts stay in your name.
